2008 Human Factors Research Symposium

Announcement

The Student Chapter of the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society at Virginia Tech announces the 2008 Human Factors Research Symposium to be held October 25, 2008 in Blacksburg, Virginia.

This one-day symposium serves as a forum for graduate students, faculty, and the community to discuss cutting edge research in human factors and ergonomics. The symposium includes poster and presentation sessions by graduate students from HFES Student Chapters in Virginia and North Carolina.

All graduate students conducting research in the following areas: biomechanics, health care, safety, transportation, human computer interaction, and macroergonomics are encouraged to register and those not yet involved in research will discover that attending the symposium is a great way to learn about the broad range of opportunities available in the field of human factors and ergonomics.

Presenter Information

Graduate students may register to present their research either through poster or in a presentation session:

Paper presentations
Individuals present their work for approximately 7-10 minutes. This time limit is strictly enforced. The symposium committee will group presenters thematically. Examples include (but are not limited to) Master's thesis, work-in-progress, or a class research project. The poster should include a statement of the idea investigated, a description of the method or approach used, findings or progress to date, and a summary. Your poster should be 40" x 32."
