Feb-16th(Fri), Ingersoll Rand Lecture Series presents Dr. David Rempel
David Rempel, MD, MPH is Professor of Bioengineering at UC Berkeley,
Professor of Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco, and
director of the ergonomics graduate training program at UC Berkeley. His
research focuses on understanding cellular and tissue responses of tendon,
nerve, and cartilage to cyclical loading with the long term goal of
preventing musculoskeletal disorders (e.g., carpal tunnel syndrome and
tendonitis) among workers. The basic science studies are complemented by
laboratory and epidemiologic studies evaluating the effects of tool designs
on hand and arm function and disorders. Dr. Rempel consults with Microsoft,
Logitech and Apple on keyboard and mouse design.
